Viroflay Spinach

Viroflay Spinach

Spinach is an ancient Persia staple that reached Southern Europe in the 9th century. Florence Queen Katherine de Medici loved it so much that she required it at every meal. Since then, any dish served with spinach is called "Florentine". Viroflay variety is a gourmet French heirloom dating back to before 1866.

Extremely robust and perfect for baby spinach, freezing or drying.

Plant with vining beans, peas, or cucumbers, which protect them from the summer heat.  Strawberries and roots like onions, radishes, carrots, and beets are friendly companions to leafy greens. Mix lots of flowers and herbs in the bed to ward off insects and attract beneficial ones. Most herbs work well with and compliment leafy greens.

Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.
