Valerian

Valerian

Valerian is a perennial plant that's a great vegetable garden companion plant as it attracts beneficial insects like bees, butterflies, and hoverflies, which helps to pollinate nearby crops. Valerian also repels harmful pests such as aphids, flea beetles, spider mites, and cabbage worms. It is also beneficial to the soil, as it is a nitrogen fixer and helps improve soil structure. Plant it near vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, and beans for maximum benefits.

Herbal:  Valerian is a powerful herb used for centuries to treat various ailments. However, it is most widely known for its sedative properties, making it an effective treatment for nervous system disorders and anxiety. The root of the plant is where the medicinal benefits come from, and it is commonly used to treat anxiety, insomnia, arthritis, menstrual cramps,  and headaches and alleviate general body pain. It contains vitamins A, C, and E, as well as calcium, iron, and magnesium. It's also used to treat digestive issues and is anti-cancer.

Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.
