Bix Max Pumpkin

Bix Max Pumpkin

William Warnock, an Ontario farmer, developed the Big Max pumpkin in the late 1800s. Warnock's first record was a 365 lb pumpkin at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Then, in 1900, he won at the Paris World Fair with one weighing 400 pounds.

Big Max pumpkins are an extra large heirloom that can weigh well over 150 lbs in ideal growing conditions. They have rough red-orange skin and bright yellowish-orange flesh. This variety is typically round or slightly flattened and can be used for jack-o'-lanterns, fall decorations, pies, soups, canning, or freezing.

Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.
